As a mum and now a nan, May has a little extra special to me. It’s a time when I find myself reflecting not just on family but on all the incredible women we see in the salon every day. The mums who are always on the go, the grandmothers who hold families together and the women who give so much of themselves without ever asking for anything in return.
I feel very lucky to have worked alongside Dale all these years and to have watched generations of families come through our doors. Some of our clients I first met as young girls and now, they’re bringing in their own children. It really is something quite special.
Being a mum and now a nan you understand just how quickly timegoes and how important it is to take a moment to yourself, even if it’s just a couple of hours in the salon to feel refreshed and looked after.
For me the salon has always been more than just a place for hair. It’s where stories are shared, friendships are made and where you can sit, relax and be taken care of for a little while.

HAIR REFRESH RITUAL
This May we're inviting you to slow down for a moment and treat your hair the way we do in the salon with intention.
Step 1) The Cleanse
Double Shampoo, Yes twice! To properly remove build up and refresh the scalp. The first cleans, the second nourishes.
Step 2) The Treatment
Towel dry your hair and apply your treatment through your mid lengths-ends and don't rush it.
Wrap your hair in a warm towel and let it set for 10 minutes. This is where the magic happens.
Step 3) The Shine
Use a leave in or serum through mid lengths & ends to lock in that moisture and give that salon shine.
Step 4) The Finish
Before you pick up the dryer, apply your styling products and always use a heat protectant. This is what protects the hair and creates those polished, long-lasting results.

GIVING BACK: WORLD'S GREATEST SHAVE
At Dale James & Co giving back to our community has always been part of who we are.
For over 30 years we've proudly supported the World's Greatest Shave by offering our clipers and shaving the students at Wesley College. Supporting the school raising both awareness and huge donations for people affected by blood cancer. It's a cause close to our hearts and one we remain committed to year after year.
Throughout April we also extended our support by donating vouchers and gifts to local organisations including the Hensman street kindergarten and junior football clubs.
Continuing our commitment to giving back wherever we can.
Being part of the community means showing up, supporting one another and making a difference in any way we can.
A May Message From Dale
There’s something special about the salon in May. It’s not just the lead up to Mother’s Day, it’s the conversations, the stories and the generations that sit in my chair.
Over the years I’ve had the beautiful privilege of doing a mum’s hair then her daughter and now even her granddaughter! That is something I never take for granted.
Hairdressing for me has never just been about the hair. After 50 years behind the chair, I still love seeing the moment when someone looks in the mirror and smiles. That never gets old.
It’s about how someone feels when they walk out the door and with mums especially, I often see the same thing they spend somuch time looking after everyone else they forget to take a moment for themselves.
So may is a little reminder from me, to all the mums, grandmothers and the women in our worlds, take the time. Refresh your hair, put yourself back on the list it matters. we see you and we look forward to looking after you a little extra this month.
